Hi all! Back from Leeds. Couldn't be better. I'll give you a telegrqphic idea for the moment. Great venue, standing, full of people right into it.  Plenty of haverers, great fun dancing all together at the front.  Gill & hubby, Al, very nice to meet you. Wonderful sound, very fine voices. Photos allowed (at least nobody told off) Couple of winks from Charlie ;) Dedicated BI to me!!!! OMG!!!!

Met Miles & Erica and told her it's amazing how she plays violin. Bought a Procs t shirt, size small enough for me. Lol.

So now, together with Angie/jtj & Chris, Mazza and Irishlady, I'm one happy haverer :D :D

Unfortunately C&C didn't meet people at the end, big venue and too many ppl. So, I'll say it here: THANKYOU LADS. Every time I see you it's better. Love you. See you in Newcastle!!!

ETA: ... And my sore throat and cough were gone during the gig... Back now tho. Lol.

Well what a night! All I can say is they started at a million miles an hour but really backed it up until the end.

Anyway, a confession, yes I was the guy in the black procs T-shirt and hat and glasses who danced like a maniac all night. So much that they dedicated Sean to me! :D I think I'm going to learn the song when my throat recovers for when I next perform live, which as always won't be long. Fantastic to have my manic energy acknowledged in a good way for once - especially since I went to my sixthform halloween party the night before the gig and the security guy nearly kicked me out for my bad dancing (which by the way I wasn't dancing half as much as at the proclaimers gig and I wasn't even singing - I hate rave music :x )

It's just brilliant to feel you're making a difference being in the proclaimers' audience - the guy next to me even had his photo taken with me. Also, felt really sorry for the guy holding up the 'First Attack Please' sign all night - I think that, like some of the other old stuff, is a song they just don't do live any more.

Great to hear that some new tracks sound great live - they didn't do as much new stuff live as they did when I saw them on the LWY tour though - which is a shame - but great to see not only the big tracks but also Wages of Sin did well live - what a song. Great to get a balance of old and new and Notes + Rhymes - what an opening track!!!

I didn't hear what Charlie said though when he dedicated that song to me - my mum was sure he knew my name. Did he? I mean does anyone know what he said? It was just a shame I didn't hear it which is annoying - that doesn't happen every day after all.

And well done C+C for using the violinist - it means a lot to me having a proper solo to Sunshine on Leith and judging by the cheer it means a lot to you guys too.

In a nutshell, a fantastic evening, also bought the new T-shirt. Well done Craig and Charlie and thanks for another great night!

I would just love to see someone dance like a maniac to "The Light" - now that really WOULD be dancing like a maniac...

Sounds like the gig matched all expectations. And I wanted "First Attack" - favourite song of the moment - didn't have a sign though, perjhaps will do next time.

My only comment is that I would have had slightly less volume on the violin in the ones I saw - but it is such a minor thing.

Last night was wonderful! Lovely to meet Angie (justthejob) and hubby Chris, Neila (twinkle), the other 2 Haverers (Marion and Joyce? sorry if I haven't remembered your names correctly) and Al. Sorry not to say a proper goodbye, Neila, Angie and Chris, but we all got split up afterwards and we waited for a while, but then went to meet some friends elsewhere in Leeds (one of my best mates lives in Leeds) so we went to another gig, in a pub (punk bands this time! LOL - and they covered "500 Miles" - was different - good, but not as good as the Proclaimers' version, obviously!).

We've just got home - went to Llandudno for the week and saw Proclaimers there last Sunday night, we were down at the barrier, both gigs were fantastic.

Thank you also to the support, Miles and Erica who we spoke to on Sunday and bought their CD, we enjoyed them again last night and Wages of Sin was fantastic with Erica playing along.

Will write more later and post photos but for now, we're both shattered! and Tony (hubby) is working nights tonight ...

Just got home a few hours ago and I am very tired but what a night, first hello again to all the havers I met I wish we could have had a proper chat but my eardrums needed to recover. Alan I hope we get a chance to meet again only this time before the gig so anything I say makes sense.
I tried to video two songs before my camera decided to it didn't want to play ball anymore :x so sorry folks but wages of sin isn't one of them, :( best song of the night in my opion :D
As soon as I know how to they will go on utube, may take a day or so trying to work out how

S1m0n I remember charlie saying about the guy dancing and I looked around but couldn't see you, can't think at the moment what he said.

Hi s1m0n, so you were that guy! LOL. Heard the dedication but don't remember if Charlie said your name. (...all I know is he did say mine in Born Innocent  ) BTW, plenty of dedications at this gig. In Sheffield they did fewer.

I couldn't say a proper goodbye to some ppl either. Great to meet you all. Gill, it was such fun your dancing!

And right, the crowd was responsive. I looked back sometimes and people were really into it. A group behind me was quite enthusiastic about Cap in hand. And the guys holding the 'first attack please' sign, will have to go to acoustic shows :)

ILB, bring on those vids! :P I'll post photos when I'm back home.

Yup! A great gig, nice to meet up etc etc as mentioned above :P :P Also met Al (ucancallme_al) and his good lady wife! Chris and I arrived at the 02 academy quite early (anticipating queues for ticket collection but there were none at 5.30pm  ) So hub and I stood alone in a doorway and listened to the soundcheck! Wonderful extra little treat: N&R and SOL :D I had a lovely evening and it was nice to have my hubby with me at a gig for a change! :) And yes folks, he said he really enjoyed it too: he also said it was hilarious watching the crew swapping the guitars and larking about a bit in the corner of the stage and he said Zac and Garry John's semi guitar-off thing that they (often) do was great too    I laughed when Charlie did the namechecks at the end and said "Clive Jenner on drums and commode!"  Noticed that Clive came on with ear defenders and had lost them by 3rd or 4th song. Maybe used to the sound levels by then? Waves and winks from Garry John and Stevie to us Haverers at the front! :) And guess what? No crashing low post gig this time for me! Felt grounded and happy to come home. No meet and greet at the end but hey, been there done that this year!  Its all good!

Dancing like a maniac to the Light, well, funny you mention that... :D If anybody noticed the guy who went 'YEAH!' when they announced the Light that was me - it's my favourite proclaimers song and this is my third gig and the first time I heard it live. I did my best to dance like a nutcase but to be honest, much as I love the song it's not perfectly suited to live gigs as it is pretty subtle. But good stuff. You don't get an unlimited number of these gigs in your life and you can't hold back, hey?

And please do bring on these videos I'll be looking for myself in them!

From what I could make out (bearing in mind that my cold/flu/whatever means my hearing is a bit muffled at the moment), it was something along the lines that the guy dancing along to every song reminded him of Craig and himself about 20 years ago, and then something about hair I think - possibly that their's was longer back then. I looked back - we were stood just behind the Haver girls, and husbands, at the front - but couldn't see who he was talking about; did see the guy with the "First Attack" sign though - he was just a few places to my right most of the time.

Well it's Monday, and back to reality! I had a brill time at Leeds. Unfortunately didn't get to meet Charlie and Craig this time, but I have Exeter, nothing could surpass that day!
It was lovely to meet other Haverers. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to JTJ and hubby, but I had to attend to a call of nature, and when I got back, you were gone. It was really sweet of Chris to make us Haverista badges, I shall put mine on my ''Proccie board''. Yes I have a board. In the spare room though, not allowed to put it in our room!
If I ever travel ''up north'' again, I will definitely fly. 7 hours both ways on a coach is exhausting.

Yeah I noticed you! :D For me too, it's the first time I hear The Light live, and it was amazing. BTW, I was the tiny girl dancing at the barrier to your left, I looked back to you several times to see you dancing to everything, it was such fun! Lol. You spot me now? Hehe.
