Hi there! I'm new to this board...was sometimes active on the old haver board, but that was long ago! I've been a fan since the early 90's. I have been trying to remember when I first saw a concert...'93 maybe? Maybe earlier...gotta dig out an old calendar. I first saw them at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. Then, shortly after I saw them again at a theater in downtown Denver- same tour. Been a fan ever since.

Caring for an elderly aunt and raising my kiddos has kept me busy enough these past 2 decades that I have never had the time to spend getting to know much about the guys' personal lives. The music has always been enough for me!

I know I missed them on at least one trip through KCMO...had babies then and couldn't justify spending a night out at that point. Luckily, Craig and Charlie are still at it...and I am to the point where I can spend some time being me again. My aunt passed away a couple of years ago, my boys are to the age where I can go out for an evening and not feel overwhelmingly guilty for doing so.

Earlier this month I hauled my sister and a friend to the concert in Denver. I was lucky enough to win the 2 tickets the guys gave away on Twitter. My friend who didn't show up that night...shoulc I say ex-friend (LOL!) will never know what she missed!

Here's hoping that the board and I will both be around long enough this time that I can get to know more about all of you...and the Proclaimers!

Welcome, Fiona! Glad you made the Denver show. If you have any time, you could tell us a bit about it on the Live thread.

What's KCMO?

Of course it is. Although how "Missouri" becomes MO is a bit mysterious.

Not at all! Just use the first and fifth letter...isn't that how all abbreviations are made?

The correct pronunciation depends on where you're from. Most actually from the state do say, "Mo-zurra" though. When we lived there my dad always jokingly called it "Misery."

Ging, you have to remember that most of our states start with M! It does get confusing, um, some of us just spell them out. Well, save MA.

Hello, this is a great idea for new folks to start off. I have been a fan since 1987, when a friend of mine handed me a copy of THIS IS THE STORY. I was a changed person after that.
I have seen them many times, but not enough times...LOL. The Masonic Temple, The El Mocambo were I think the first two. They are such a force, and it keeps getting stronger. I look forward to talking to you.

Hi Ginger! Yes I did, and it was amazing as usual. I was also at The Mod Club last year. It is such a joy to go to one of their shows. Did you get to see them this year?
