Hi Nat, do you still live in Brizzle or have you managed to escape? :)
Glad I'm not the only proclaimer fan from down here!

No, no.. I'm still here although driving to Edinburgh on Friday (leaving 1pm) to go and see the Proclaimers on Saturday in Edinburgh. Have you ever done the trip and how long does it take??? Whereabouts are you? I'm in W-o-T.

Did you go and see them when they played at the Colston Hall in Oct??

I went up to Edinburgh in September but I flew, I quite like flying, it's so peaceful.
I live in Almondsbury. I noticed on your other thread that you worked for the NHS, I work (or rather I'm EMPLOYED) for the UBHT on the A & C Bank. I say employed because the work is very rare!! :x Which trust are you working for? Living in W-o-T it could be either!!
I did see the Procs at the Colston Hall it was brilliant, I sang my heart out! I put a couple of pictures on the LIVE forum, it's probably on page 2 by now.
I would love to see them perform at 'home' as it were, you'll have a great time.

Hiya,

I was at UBHT until last month, mostly on the Bank but now I'm at NBT. What's the A & C Bank?

I couldn't go to the Colston Hall gig because it was my dd's b'day 2 days later and I was making her cake that night!! I have to say I'm not that keen on the Colston Hall as a venue unless they changed the seating because you kind of have to sit all the way through or move about in a very confined space. Maybe they changed it for the gig but last time I went to see a band there I wasn't keen on the layout.

Did you fly from Bristol? I just can NOT being myself to go in a prop plane. Flying makes me think of a comment by Frankie Boyles about not liking anyone that much that you want to hurtle yourself towards them at 300mph

I'm off to see if I can find pics of you at the Colston Hall 8)

Hi Nat, the A & C bank is admin and clerical but they don't seem to like us part-timers.
The Colston Hall gig was great 'cos they took out all the stalls seats that were on the flat, so the seated area didn't start 'til under the balcony.
Yep, I flew from Bristol, I know what Frankie means - but - the thought of sitting cooped-up in a car or a train for that long freaks me out, I'd be bored and stiff.

Hey Liz - am back now. Had fab time.

Are you interested in a p/t job because there's one going (our p/t receptionist has just left).

Having never driven to Scotland... you're right, it was rather boring after a while and I did get a bit stiff. On the way home, I was hobbling into the service station lol. I would still do it all over again though....

I only want to work 2 days a week, which I think is probably the reason why I don't get work, but reception work is what I'd like to do. At the moment I do voluntary work one afternoon at the BRI on the info desk, telling people where to go - nicely of course!! And I rather enjoy it.
