Right! hiya all

Carole took some fantastic pics of the boys on her little Nikon, mine weren't so good as I had the wrong lens. I'll put my pics up tomorrow morning I promise, or send them to Twinkle as she is the Photowiz around here

We didn't see the warm up band as we were in the pub but got to the gig to see the lads, I will try and remember the set list and the special guest was a violinist who played a blinding SOL
She was fabulous!!

We were up in the gods and the lighting was absolutely fabulous. I had found a pair of Proc specs on the pavement and gave them to the lighting guy we met in the pub!!

Sean,
SOL
Love can move Mountains
On Causeway side
There's A Touch

I'm going to have to ask Carole who will be landing at about 9pm tomorrow

We met the guys after and also Kevin Rowlands (Dexys Midnight Runners) It was nice to see Carole meeting everyone again. Craig And Charlie were on top form as ususal.

God knows what time we left. I will have to get my pics off my disc and upload tomorrow. The only problem is that my mac won't recognise my Nikon SD card so Iwill borrow my son's PC. I have formatted it already but it still won't work! stupid thing!

I have just got back from seeing Carole and her son Sean off at Heathrow.

She has told the guys she will be seeing them in Perth, God knows she has bought enough tickets!!

I've just been reading the other write ups-I hope Carole will be on so on she has all the details. I'm not a very good writer.
the space bar on my keyboard will not work so this is taking me ages to write. oh it has snapped, but now it works better!!!!
On the way to the pub before the gig I found a pair of Proclaimer Glasses on the pavement, well I just had to pick them up didn't I?

In the pub we met Buddy, Aldo and the lighting guy begged to be given the glasses so as I had found them it seemed right to pass them on.

I suppose it is ok to put his piccie up.....

whaddya think? :P

I was so entranced by his magic lights in the show I forgot to make a note of the songs - it really was a fantastic show.

BLAST!!! but we had to wet our whistles before the gig! However I will be looking out for them on the net. She was really good.
I am always inspired to take up my fiddle again but there never seems to be enough hours in the day. They say the older you get the more
time on your hands you have . I must be getting younger!

I got a text from Carole today and she says that she and her 10 year old son Sean are getting over their jet-lag (or let-lag as she put it) and will be on the ball soon!!
I'm still getting over the whole weekend! we both are terrible at keeping in touch but are able to carry on a conversation like it was after yesterday :P

OK - so stop talking about me!!!!!

Filling in some blanks -
The set list I wrote down faithfully - all the way up my arm!!!!!! And since I have had a wash (or two) since then, I'm afraid I can't read it any more! But I did write it on a bit of actual paper the next day in your kitchen Fran - look on the table next to the thing-o you got from your last jaunt to see the LOM/AtoA people!!!!! Lemme see if I can remember any more (in no partiular order)
Let's get married
Life with you
Blood on your hands
Born innocent
Should have been loved
Burn your playhouse down
Whole wide world
There's no doubt (I think)
Letter from America
500 miles
Sean
When you're in love
Cap in Hand
Joyful Kilmarnock blues
Sunshine on Leith
Theres a touch
I'm on my way

and another two from the new album - Fran? Names? There were at least 20 songs, so there are a few I missed - anyone care to fill it in further?

In the pub before it was really nice to see Buddy and Aldo again - not sure if they remembered me really (been a long time after all) - much beer has flowed under the bridge in the interim..... And sav blanc on my part too! But they were very pleasant, as were the "lighting guy", and his mate (sorry, didn't catch your mane), plus Fran's two new friends - who were game enough to give her their email addresses...! I can't talk - we slept together the first night we met after all....!
Buddy left the pub just in the nick of time (well, he'd done all the work that afternoon, who can blame him for having a sherbet or two?!?!?) - leaving in his wake only 'the enigma', a vague sense of wonderment (was his tall tale really true?!?!), a promise to deliver the note (not sure if he did, the tyke!), and a faint smell of chloroform...
So off we went to the venue - after being frisked TWICE on the way in (very security conscious of them) - and after Fran had 'misplaced' her ticket and backstage pass (note to self - first place to look next time - in the bra!) - and re-found them - we located our seats - luckily placed on the end of a row (handy for the toilets - remember much beer had been consumed) - and more or less in the middle of the house - in the Gods as Fran mentioned, but none the worse for that! The lighting looked great from where we were - not that great for photos, but good for the naked eyeball - didn't stop me taking pix though needless to say!!! I particularly liked them in torquoise...!
The gig itself was great - need I say more??!!?!? Remember, I have had a drought of 5 and a half years (looooong time...) and you might expect me to be easily pleased, but I think in this case, absence does make the heart grow fonder - I think I had forgotten just how professional and tight a band they are, and how much of an effort they make to get it all right - I didn't spot a single fluffed chorus or duff note - and I don't think I was looking through rose tinted NHS specs here - they were just as impressive as they were 5 years ago - age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. They (like a good cab sav) only improve with time - long may they reign!
We were in no particular hurry to leave our seats, as we were going to go say hi backstage (thanks again to Tom).
But eventually we made it through to the backstage meet n greet area. The usual suspects were there - some people I had met before, some I hadn't - finally met the fragrant Zac - pleasant enough, but probably slightly in awe of me(!) - I never know what to say - just stand around like a stuffed mullet - sorry - I'll be less catatonic next time, I promise! And Clive was a newbie to me too - seems like a lovely guy! And Gary-John and Stevie (awright?) - were both pretty relaxed out there on the wee (wobbly..!) balcony - I was scared to step out there in case it just dropped like one of those rides at Alton Towers...! Again, I was so shy, I didn't get to make too great an impression - but there's always a next time - we shall blame the jet lag, OK?? Just wait till you get over to my hometown - Let me take you out on the tiles here, and you will see a thing or three!
Anyway, as always, the night was too short, and all too soon it was time to wend our weary way home to Fran's - where I was amused to see her cat had taken up residence in my flight bag - try explaining that to Border Security...! I almost never made it through customs....
But here I am, back to auld claes and purritch again, and storing up my energies, so I can make the most of my next appointment with what I can still safely say (in spite of their prolonged absence from my life) are my favourite live act. All my old emotions and memories of other shows in the dark and distant past came flooding back, and I thoroughly enjoyed rekindling the fires. The embers are now smouldering away, waiting till the time when I will blow them gently, and fan the flames to life once more - ready to barbecue a kangaroo in their honour this summer! Ah canny wait!
Dust, anyone?
