They had lots of problema with the lighting on thursday, they kept dimming the hall lights then bringing them back up, then all the stage lights were twisting everywhere, then every light in the place was turned off and the band had to wait to come on.

Currently on the bus to edinburgh so dont have thursdays set list with me, will post up when i can.

Dunfermline 3 June 3010

I arrived in Dunfermline about 6:15 and worryingly there was about 12 folk there already, but just got on with it and started talking to the people behind, its starting to be a challenge to find someone who is a newbie, everyone i spoke to had seen them at least 3 times.

we got in at 7 and standing and seating were told to go through seperate doors, as it turned out i was the first standing person in the queue by some distance.

Tommy Reilly came on about 7:35 and played for 40 mins, an excellent keyboardist and guitarist with a decent voice, so nice to have a band that compliments the proclaimers.

after the lighting problems the band came on with zacs way led by a torch (poor guy). they burst straight into notes and rhymes which was excellent as usual, the band were very talkative and they had problem after problem with their equipment, charlies guitar was retuned...

...and the drums fell apart.

the gig was fantastic even with on stage problems and everyone looked like thay had a great time, i would say the two most popular songs now are i'm gonna be and life with you.

afterwards i spoke to the band outside about an hour after the gig, zac says he's recovering well but he's actually enjoying sitting down while the others are doing the hard work (i have to say his guitar work was particularly brilliant), garry john complimented the venue saying it was one he wishes he could take everywhere. craig and charlie greeted like old friends as usual, did their autographs and pictures with the four of us then hopped in the mini-bus and off they went.

great night and now throughly looking forward to tonight.

sorry for the split review, on phone which only allows 1000 characters per post.

I think the cymbels (no idea how to spell that) fell off. Craig said "the next song is one from 2007, called Life With You............or will be once the drums are put back together" then Charlie said "its still called Life With You" then they started. they were in good comedy mode, with charlie turning to craig in the middle of over and done with and slowing right down and saying very seriously "so thats it you just washed your hands and went for your dinner".

meantime i'm bored somewhere between pitlochry and kingussie on the slowest train ever, the coaches on the road beside us are shooting by.

Good Review there! :) It's a shame about the technical errors but hey, a tour wouldn't be a tour if it didn't have some hairy moments. Lol. Seemed like a very good gig nonetheless. Might see you tonight in inverness :)

Great to hear you had a fantastic time and you got to meet the band too.

Drums falling apart before LWY? Oh my, glad it wasn't in the middle of the song!!

charlie turning to craig in the middle of over and done with and slowing right down and saying very seriously "so thats it you just washed your hands and went for your dinner"

Isn't it cute lol :D

Have a wonderful evening tonight !!!!

Livi, your review is great fun! Thanks so much for the fun and interesting details - really makes us feel like we're there. How big was the venue in Dunfermline? Sounds like the whole band is in good humour, which always shows on stage.

And interesting to hear that LwY is becoming more and more popular with the crowd.

So concise and so much great reporting!! You're a star!

Standing at the ironworks just now, met mikie and his mates.

seems a good venue but quite small, which will be great.

the accoustics are already sounding good while their doing their sound checks.

it seemed about 1500 on thursday (says 1700 on the website, was full bit not too full.

Thank you all so much for posting...and posting...and posting! It's so alive and it really does let the rest of us feel like we're a part of it all. :D
I can see now that I really didn't keep up with posting well enough when in the U.S. this year. I was just soooooo caught up in everything and there didn't seem to be a spare second when I was in a place with internet (then again, I didn't have much internet. Note to self: Make sure hotel has reliable internet next time  ).

Livi... I thought your split post was cute! I didn't know why you'd done it at first, but it was fun to read it that way. .

Now all that appreciation aside, you guys are KILLING ME with all the Over and Done with descriptions    .
It's that banter that is a huge part of why This is the Story is my favourite album (hence my signature line).
Gonna stop in the middle just to talk about the part that really matters

Oh boy Livi, your posts keep bringing me back to the board. You're getting the touch, and live to boot! Aren't we the lucky ones.
Thanks for showing us the venue at Dumferline (sp?).
Yep, I could tell last fall that LWY was coming in a really close second as a live song for them, much carrying on by the whole crowd, not just the usual suspects.
The break in your post was funny.
Um, the lighting, well, there it is,
Now, who is there tonight? I mean Haverers? Mikie, yes. Fawlty memory.
Can't wait for later.
Thanks.

Set list for Dunfermline on Thursday the 3rd of June 2010 was as follows:-

1. Notes and Rhymes
2. Born Innocent
3. What Makes You Cry?
4. Letter from America
5. Cap in Hand
6. I'm on my way
7. Sweet Little Girls
8. The Light
9. Sean
10. In Recognition
11. Whole Wide World
12. Lets Get Married
13. Three More Days
14. You Meant It Then
15. Shadows Fall
16. Sunshine on Leith
17. Then I Met You
18. There's a Touch
19. Life With You
20. I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)
Encore
21. Over and Done With
22. The Joyful Kilmarnock Blues

This was the 13th time I have seen the famous twins since their comeback in 2001. First Proclaimers gig was in 2002 at the Loreburn Hall in Dumfries where they covered Get Ready which is on the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack with the twins singing it. Brilliant cover it is.

Even though it was my 13th time, the excitement about going to a Proclaimes gig is still there. Guessing what songs will be sung and stuff. What the crowd is like etc etc.

I will never tire hearing Letter from America, Life with You, Then I met you, There's a touch, lets get married and the joyful Killie blues at a Proclaimers concert.

The venue was a good venue for a gig as Garry John Kane confirmed after the show. Accoustics were great. Support was very good in Tommy Reilly. Have heard some really good things about him and he is one to watch for the future.

Great to meet Livi Crazy after the show as I have never previously met a haverer before at a Proclaimers gig.

Hope you enjoyed Inverness tonight and enjoy the Willie Nelson gig on Tuesday at the Armadillo.
Hope Hope. Hope and pray that the wages of sin are not paid today.
