Oh good! I thought so, but no one had mentioned it in all these posts about which ones he sings (at least not that I had seen). I have a serious weakness for Charlie singing. Love Craig and all, but.... :D

Interesting, AR. I have gone back and forth on whose voice I pay most attention to. Charlie's harmonies are always interesting and often surprising, and I love the edge to his voice. In No Witness, it's enough to break your heart.

But then when I really pay attention to Craig's voice, it's got so much depth and richness, it's like eating dark Belgian chocolate. But less fattening!

Charlie isn't singing lead as much anymore because of his vocal problems, he has to be careful. I remember when Charlie always sang Sean at gigs but now it's mostly Craig or half and half, Scotlands Story though is always sung by Charlie and of course Act of Remembrance, sadly they don't seem to include that at gigs anymore. I prefere Craig taking the lead he has a very strong vocal sound and combined with Charlies softer harmonies, awesome.

There could be another reason why Craig takes the lead on most of the songs, he wrote them. It has only just dawned on me after all these years how much we have to be grateful to Craig, he's the one who writes 98 to 100% of all the Proclaimers songs on each album, such an incredible talented guy. Nothing against Charlie who brings his own talents in to play but it kind of blew me away to think that all those amazing songs, that I love so much, come out of one Proclaimers head. I hope the Muse never leaves Craig, I would hate to be reduced to just cover songs on their albums, even though they do an incredible job of them.......well except for that horrid "17" song that I will be for ever grateful they didn't include on their Notes and Rymes album.

Even at the end of this US tour, both of them were in very fine voice. I do sometimes wonder if they take any special precautions to protect those important assets of theirs. I gotta say, I didn't notice Charlie holding anything back. You Meant It Then, Love Can Move Mountains - full power!

Yeah, I agree, I can't see them ever being happy singing only other people's songs.

And Aliese, 17 really did grow on me. It's gritty and unusual, and now I love to listen to the way Craig and Charlie make it their own.

I have to disagree about Charlie not holding back but my mind goes back before Charlies op. As for 17.....nothing would make me like this song, I cringe when I hear it. I doubt the group responsible for this horrid song will last more than a couple of years....thank goodness.

And I'd say, after much discussion recently, that Charlie's voice is like 60% dark with overtones of single malt.

Now, Yan, I'd be willing to call it a tie.

For those who weren't there, the dark chocolate discussions got more and more silly, until eventually judgments were made. I think Aliese would have fit right into the discussion, by the way!

I should have added that we were in San Fransisco, with Ghirardelli chocolates everywhere. We were in a somewhat suggestible state, perhaps.

This spring, didn't Craig change something and someone yell out and Craig said, "I wrote it, I can sing it the way I want"? Good one.

One of my favorite lines is "For you they should bring hanging back", and Craig and I talked about that one in SF (?) and he loves it too. I thought it was cute that he was still going on that one, which is pretty old

Hey, my daughter (10 next week) just picked out that Charlie is singing the ooohhhh intro in Over and Done With while Craig is more in the background, then it flips as Craig starts into "This is the story...". She's right, right?
