I can vividly remember the moment when I could finally tell their voices apart, it was one of those "hallelujah" moments. Even when they're speaking now i can tell too. Charlie has a softer lilt and draws his words out a little whereas Craig is more clipped with his intonations! Thats just my take on it but, I think I'm correct tho. :)

Yan, I THINK this is the one that surprised me in NY in March. A guy yelled out Over and Done With and they did it, unplanned. What surprised me so much was that Craig did the bass beginning. I think (think) that was the one, when I jabbed Ginger a little too hard. Maybe she will remember.
So, I have the most trouble when they do low or bass.

Ooh Over and done with, I really wanna hear that live!!!

Let's see, at the beginning of the song they both do something, but I'd swear it's Charlie who does the higher thing and Craig the lower, more rhytmical thing. Yan, is that what your daughter says, or the other way round?

Most of the times I think I can tell their voices apart when they sing, but it's true that the low parts are more difficult. I still find it hard to tell their talking voices apart though, but I'll be glad to work on it :D

JTJ, I also had my 'eureka' moment to tell their faces apart, but that was another thread, and it happened a long long long time ago

Ahhhh! that explains it then. When I asked Charlie if they could sing "The Lovers Face" he said they couldn't because Craig always screws up one of the lines.............

Gee!! sorry I missed that discussion, sounds like it was lots of fun!! I'll be glad when my Grandson is old enough to look after himself, this babysitting is very time consuming....but lots of fun :D

Next time, Aliese! I haven't been to a gig in Ottawa - maybe I'll have to put it on my wish list.

I had a Eureka moment too. Actually it was more of a duh moment. For no good reason one day, it just dawned on me that it was Charlie singing the song. I wasn't even actively listening, just in the car with the music filtering through my thoughts. But once I realized, it was obvious. But I agree with Twinkle. It can still be hard to tell them apart when they're speaking. Like if it's a radio interview or something, I can hear the obvious difference at the start but the longer I listen, the more they blend together. Weird.

That's a cool tidbit! I'd love to know which one and how.

Lucky! That's one of my favorite songs and I'd love to hear it live.

Yeah you're right there!!

Now I'm learning to tell their signatures apart as well, they are so similar. LOL.

Okay, I see that I'm the only one with 2 bars of chocolate, so perhaps I deserved the title of 'Worse than...".

Oh yea, and I think Charlie might have been onto something with the Chocolate Mint thing. I just had an After Eight chocolate bar and the dark choc is like his low notes, while the mint brought to mind his high harmonies!!

This pic and your comments make me feel like doing something, but now I don't know whether it's eating chocolate or listening to a song.
Have you heard about synesthesia?

DO BOTH!!!

That's EXACTLY what we were trying to pitch! Maybe if I had done my research on the science behind it all, the conversation might have gone better

Oooops, a highjacked thread.

First, sorry, you can get Ghiradelli everywhere now. Stilll luscious, of course. Now it will have a new meaning. Mint, you say, alrighty.

On Over And Done With, it was indeed cool, and Ging and I were lucky for sure. The guy yelled it out, Craig looked at Charlie, Charlie either nodded or said OK, and he started playing it, faster than that, bam. It may have been Philly, not NY, I would have to go back and look at the board. As nervewracking as those concerts were for them, they just slid right into it.
The other song that made those concerts amazing was The First Attack, they WERE on the attack, with Charlie attacking the guitar.

Re Craig messing up. Apparently he does from time to time and it went completely over my head, they had to be exhausted. One of my favorite moments this time was Charlie shooting him a look. Not a dirty look, just a look, a "Yo, bro, WTF" look. Extreeeeemly cute.

Well, I don't know. You leave this site for a nanosecond (call that a few days...) and when you come back, there are folk doing a choc advertisement. What is the world coming to ?

I love the way this thread has developed ! Thanks, guys.....

Oh, and GREAT pic, btw !
