Your favourite song of the moment

Postby Livi Crazy on Mon Aug 25, 2008 10:45 pm

Alright, on another forum I am involved on, we have a very popular thread (nearly, 6700 to date), which people just state what there song of the moment is.

Basically, what song do you listen to on your mp3 player, or in the cd player repeatedly, or do you really enjoy the most.

Lets make this clear this is not a Proclaimers thread, though if that is your song of the moment then so be it, but its about learning about other people taste in music outside of The Proclaimers.

Now if you can, let someone see a clip or listen to it, somewhere, allowing us to maybe discover new songs, and maybe even a new artist (to our own personal collection).

Two good websites for this

Right for me, difficult to choose, but one I constantly listen to just now is a song called Heart of Gold, written by Neil Young and is performed by Johnny Cash on the Unearthed album, which I really hope to get someday, but really cant afford it just now :(

This is my favorite song from the last year or so (outside of a couple of the songs on LWY!)... The song is called Black and Blue, and it is by my friend Kenny Schick:

Cheers Fueco, I'll give a listen to that tomorrow, going to bed just now.

Fran!!!! Can you please change the title of the thread to "your favourite song of the moment?", it makes me look retarded at the moment.

Thanks in Advance

I'm still trying to convince my husband to come with me. He just growns when I mention it :( Love the Youtube clip though.

My favourite track at the moment is John Holt - Help me make it through the night

Thanks Fran

Fueco thats pretty good, very good song, excellent guitar playing, his voice annoyed me a bit, but still very good. Almost a Bob Dylan quality about him, of which I can admire the talent, but cant take much of listening to him.

DonnaH, an unusual and certainly interesting version of a great Kris Kristofferson song. Pretty catchy, so different to the versions I have (KK, Willie Nelson, Charley Pride etc)

I gave the Mamma Mia thing a miss, I cant stand Abba, sorry.

Thanks for sharing guys, keep sharing lets make this the most popular thread ever, dont know if its possible but could this be made a "sticky", so that new members can always come on and see it and join in, I know once threads sink below the top 10 they tend to be forgotten about.

It is such a chick flick. I saw it once with some girlfriends and once with my mother and sister. Do you have a girlfriend you can drag along? It is a really fun movie.

Okay, a band I've liked since '89 are the Indigo Girls. I've chosen Galileo as the song for you to all listen to...it's a simple intro to their world. I think they're fab....great guitars...great harmonies....great lyrics....yes, I probably do go for that in the music I listen to!!

I also love the music of Regina Spektor...so here's a song of hers to listen to. Listen to it a few times!!

Enjoy...and, if you don't, don't bother telling me cos I don't care!!! Ha!!

Dixie Chicks, Not Ready to Make Nice

If you haven't seen the movie "Shut Up and Sing," I really recommend it. Good story about the commitment of these women and their families to not be bullied by the music business.

It’s great when you find a cover of a song you like or even better the original. Take these three:

Another Trojan track I over-play:

The original:

And a Bollywood track inspired by the original:

I guess I should get back to work now :(

This has got to be my favourite song of the moment, had it for a while, but really really liking it just now. Its a song, written by Hoyt Axton, and performed by Three Dog Night, this was recorded during their peak between 1969 and 1975, where they had 21 Top 40 Hits, in a 6 year period, the only band of the time to outsell the Beatles.

Here's another one...

This is Sundirtwater, from my second favorite band; The Waifs.

I saw them in concert on Saturday, for the third time this year. Brilliant stuff from the Aussies yet again. We were standing front row on the left side of the stage (I was leaning against one of the speakers). So much fun!

Current favourite song is any of the ones from the Three Dog Night album that I just bought, rerecording their classic with the London Symphony Orchestra, sounds amazing.
